PRE- AND POSTDOCTORAL OPPORTUNITIES IN MARTINEZ-MORALES LAB (CABD, SEVILLE)
WE ARE LOOKING FOR BIOINFORMATICIANS TO JOIN OUR PROJECT “MECHANICAL REGULATION OF CHROMATIN AND TRANSCRIPTION DURING TISSUE MORPHOGENESIS” (REF: PID2023-152286NB)
We are seeking talented and motivated researchers, both at graduate and postdoctoral level, with a background in Bioinformatics who are interested in joining our laboratory to support the project “Mechanical regulation of chromatin and transcription during tissue morphogenesis”. This interdisciplinary proposal tackles a basic question at the interface between cell and developmental biology: as to how mechanical information is interpreted in the context of developmental programs in the embryo. We are using gastrulating teleost embryos as experimental paradigm to characterize how chromatin respond to mechanical stimulation in vivo. We are confident that our approach will generate relevant reference datasets providing a novel framework for understanding how mechano-transduction and epigenetics intersect in living tissues.
We offer a two-year contract for candidates with an outstanding academic record. Previous experience in the analysis of single-cell datasets is not mandatory although will be positively considered. The successful candidate it is expected to contribute to the analysis of datasets generated using functional genomics approaches (ATACseq, RNAseq and multiome single-cell profiling) on fish embryos. We aim to identify cell-specific cisregulatory modules responding to mechanical tension.
The CABD (www.cabd.es) is a vibrant and outstanding research institute devoted to the study of Developmental Biology and awarded with the Maria de Maeztu distinction as an excellence center. Located in the beautiful and sunny city of Seville (Spain), the CABD is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and hosts groups working on a variety of model organisms, providing a stimulating and international scientific environment.
Applicants should submit their motivation letter, full CV and academic record, including grades, to Juan Ramón Martínez-Morales (jrmarmor@upo.es).

JOB OFFER: Deadline: October 30th
WE ARE HIRING: LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
We are looking for a motivated Laboratory Technician to join our research team and support exciting projects in developmental neurobiology.
About the Project
Our lab has recently developed a spinal cord organoid model that reconstitutes secondary neurulation from human pluripotent stem cells. Using this model, we investigate how cells and tissues rearrange in 4D (3D over time), including de novo lumen formation and the mesenchymal-to-epithelial transition that drives secondary neurulation, both in normal development and in neural tube defects.
Your Role
As a laboratory technician, you will:
Contribute to experiments with organoids, stem cells, and tissue culture.
Support day-to-day lab operations (sample prep, data collection, maintenance of equipment and cultures).
Work closely with researchers to advance ongoing projects.
Requirements
Degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related field.
Experience in cell/tissue culture (organoid work is a plus).
Strong organizational and teamwork skills.
Enthusiasm to learn and grow in a dynamic research environment.
What We Offer
Hands-on training in state-of-the-art techniques and facilities.
A collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
Salary according to CSIC scales, based on your qualifications.
📩 Apply with CV + short motivation letter, and contact information for [1–2] references to Elisa Marti, Instituto de Biología Molecular de Barcelona (IBMB_CSIC) emgbmc@ibmb.csic.es
